AFENET Executive Director Dr Chima Ohuabunwo meets Nigeria Minister of Health, Prof Isaac Adewole

The AFENET Executive Director – Dr. Chima Ohuabunwo, met with Nigeria Minster of Health – Honorable Minister of Health (HMH), Prof Isaac Adewole, and the Director of Public Health on 10 January 2018 at the Federal Ministry of Health offices in the National Secretariat, Abuja, Nigeria. Dr Ohuabunwo, was accompanied by Dr. Patrick Nguku, the Regional Technical Coordinator and Senior Resident Advisor for the Nigeria Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program (NFELTP), and Dr. Muhammad Shakir Balogun, the Resident Advisor of NFELTP. During the meeting, the Dr Ohuabunwo thanked the Prof Adewole for the opportunities his leadership has provided for the African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET) to support the public health system in Nigeria.

He also advocated for strengthening existing collaborations and expanding AFENET’s footprint in Nigeria. The AFENET team also had a separate meeting with the Director of Public Health to further discuss specific areas of collaboration.
