While in Kano, the state team lead, Dr. Haladu made a presentation on activities implemented in the state, portraying the successes and challenges encountered.

The US CDC team commended AFENET for the successes recorded especially on its tremendous contribution to public health. NFELTP started as a small unit but has remarkably grown and has built the capacity of physicians, veterinarians and laboratorians as field epidemiologists.  Although Nigeria is among the three (3) countries in the world with WPV, efforts made in its eradication was appreciated especially as creative ways have been explored. Similarly, the AFENET intervention strategy being implemented by AFENET was praised as it has led to a lot of successes. The level of successes attained is encouraging despite the difficulties experienced on the field. Keep up the good works.
